Eric Clapton has done it again in another timeless track this heart-wrenching love song titled “Layla” was written by Eric Clapton who drew inspiration from Manjun and Layla’s unrequited love – a tale found in a popular Persian poem. The song was released in EP by ‘Derek and the Dominos’ which was a Clapton-formed band, back in 1970.
Eric Clapton – Layla
From his early days with the Yardbirds, through John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek And The Dominos, and on to his solo career he has had consistent critical and commercial success. “Planes, Trains And Eric” follows Eric Clapton and his band on the Far and Middle Eastern leg of his 2014 World Tour. The film features 13 full-length performances from the tour intercut with interviews with Eric Clapton and the band members, rehearsal and soundcheck footage, travel by trains and planes, presentations, and “fly on the wall” filming of all the many aspects of being on the road with Eric Clapton.

The song depicts Clapton’s heart and emotions which come out through his powerful vocals that so perfectly caress the frail essence of the sound. The maniacal eruption witnessed on his strings is unreal providing as false sense of security that is surely complimented by stunning depth and readability.
“Layla” gets a lot of praise for remarkable rhythm guitar riffs and so gets hypnotized by many rock lovers. Even though traditionalists would hear the upbeat Clapton would hear a middle-aged voice that strikes them as quite superb giving them the realization of something they simply cannot resist.
Countless versions of “Layla” covers or remakes have existed however none could displace the original further made including the fact that it can be enjoyed acoustically strumming along to load lathes. However, the true essence of Layla is the original but this is a perfect compliment to the raw and enthusiastic version that many people enjoyed.
Lyrics:
See if you can spot this one
What will you do when you get lonely
And no one’s waiting by your side?
You’ve been running and hiding much too long
You know it’s just your foolish pride
Layla
You’ve got me on my knees, Layla
Begging darling please, Layla
Darling, won’t you ease my worried mind?
Tried to give you consolation
Your old man, he let you down
Like a fool, I fell in love with you
You turned my whole world upside down
Layla
You’ve got me on my knees, Layla
Begging darling please, Layla
Darling, won’t you ease my worried mind?
Make the best of the situation
Before I finally go insane
Please don’t say we’ll never find a way
Or tell me all my love’s in vain
Layla
You’ve got me on my knees, Layla
Begging darling please, Layla
Darling, won’t you ease my worried mind?
Layla
You’ve got me on my knees, Layla
Begging darling please, Layla
Darling, won’t you ease my worried mind?
Layla
You’ve got me on my knees, Layla
Begging darling please, Layla
Darling, won’t you ease my worried mind?
Layla
You’ve got me on my knees, Layla
Begging darling please, Layla
Darling, won’t you ease my worried mind?
Thank you
